REFCON Benefits

Improved quality of reefer monitoring

The operator receives early warning if an alarm occurs on any of the connected reefer containers. This allows the operator to promptly take preventive action at the affected reefer unit, and thus avoid potential
damage to the cargo.

Reduced operational costs

REFCON helps the user to identify the reefers that require specific attention. In this way operations are improved, and man-hours are reduced through the elimination of unnecessary manual inspections of
reefers that are running perfectly.

Address customers concerns immediately

The REFCON logs serve as comprehensive and consistent documentation in the event that future claims arise in relation to the way a reefer was handled. In such cases, the claim can be dealt with very quickly compared to the traditional reefer-location and log-retrieval process. This helps save time and money, and customer concerns can be addressed immediately.

Improved health and safety at work

Terminals and ships are dangerous places to work, where hazards include fast-moving cranes and steep ladders. Automated reefer monitoring is obviously much safer than performing manual monitoring. By enabling reefer monitoring to take place in a safe office environment, REFCON helps both ships’ crews and terminal operators to minimize the number of accidents and injuries in the workplace.

Fewer human errors

REFCON checks all reefers continuously and identifies all alarms. In addition, REFCON catches a variety of typical errors such as “wrong temperature set-point” , “reefer not plugged into power outlet” and “wrong or missing container ID” This all leads to better, more optimized reefer container operation with a reduced risk of human errors.

Effective use and installation

REFCON is very effective to use, since the REFCON system communicates through the electrical power supply cables, which must be connected in any case. For this same reason, REFCON systems are easy to install and retrofit, since they rely on using the existing electrical network.
